What collections does Gunther Sound offer? Gunther Sound has two distinct music collections. The Vocal Collection contains original, fully produced songs with lead vocals — written for weddings, ceremonies, and milestone moments. The Background Music Collection contains instrumental-only tracks with no vocals, designed for videographers, content creators, and filmmakers who need music that supports the scene without lyrics. Each collection serves a different need, so make sure you are browsing the right one before you purchase.
Do the songs in the Vocal Collection have singing in them? Yes. Every song in the Vocal Collection is a fully produced track with lead vocals permanently embedded in the mix. These are complete, finished recordings — not backing tracks. The vocals cannot be removed, isolated, or separated from the file under any license tier.
Do the songs in the Background Music Collection have vocals? No. Every track in the Background Music Collection is instrumental only — no lead vocals, no lyrics. These tracks are designed specifically for use as background music in wedding films, highlight reels, content creation, and any project where you need music without a vocal performance.
Which collection is right for me? If you are a couple looking for a song to play at your ceremony, first dance, or reception — the Vocal Collection is for you. If you are a videographer or content creator looking for music to score a wedding film or video project — the Background Music Collection is typically the better fit, though many videographers also license vocal songs for specific emotional moments in their films.
File Formats & What You Receive
What file formats are included with each license? The Personal License includes a high-quality MP3 (320kbps), delivered instantly via download link after purchase. The Creator and Annual License include both the high-quality MP3 (320kbps) and a full studio WAV file, plus a License Certificate PDF.
Do any licenses include stems, instrumentals, or a cappella versions? No. No license tier — Personal, Creator, or Annual — includes stems, instrumental versions, a cappella versions, or individual layer files. All songs in the Vocal Collection are delivered as fully mixed stereo recordings with vocals permanently embedded. The vocals cannot be removed or separated from the file. If you need a track without vocals, please browse the Background Music Collection instead.
Can I record my own vocals over a Gunther Sound song? No. Our songs are delivered as complete, finished productions. The vocals are permanently mixed into the recording and cannot be removed. We do not offer backing tracks, karaoke versions, or stem files for any song in the Vocal Collection. If you are looking for a track to record your own voice over, the Background Music Collection is the appropriate option.
How do I receive my files after purchase? Your files are delivered instantly via download link immediately after checkout. Creator and Annual License purchases also include a License Certificate PDF. If you do not receive your download link, check your spam folder.
For Couples & Guests
Can I use a Gunther Sound song at my wedding? Yes — that is exactly what the Personal License is for. Purchase the Personal License for $29 and you are covered for your ceremony, first dance, mother-son or mother-daughter dance, reception, and any personal wedding video you create.
Do I need to credit Gunther Sound at my wedding? No. You are not required to credit us during your ceremony or reception. If you post a personal video online and want to tag us, we appreciate it — but it is never required.
Can my videographer use the song if I bought the Personal License? No. The Personal License covers your personal use only. If your videographer is editing your wedding film and including the song in a deliverable — especially if they monetize their work — they need their own Creator or Annual License. Most professional videographers already maintain their own music licenses.
Can I use the song for my wedding highlight reel on Instagram or TikTok? Yes, as long as the content is personal and non-monetized. If you run ads against it or earn revenue from the post, you would need a Creator License.
Can I get a refund? Because our products are digital downloads delivered instantly, we are unable to offer refunds once the files have been downloaded. If you have a problem with your order, please contact us at support@gunthersound.com with your order number and we will make it right.
For Videographers & Planners
Can I use a Gunther Sound song in a client wedding film? Yes — the Creator License ($79 per song) gives you full commercial rights to use the song in client wedding films, highlight reels, and any professional deliverable. One license covers unlimited projects for that song.
What is the difference between the Creator License and the Annual License? The Creator License is a one-time purchase that gives you permanent commercial rights to use that song across unlimited projects. The Annual License ($149/year) gives you the same rights but renews automatically each year — designed for videographers who want a simple annual library rather than per-song purchases. If you shoot more than two weddings a year using the same song, the Annual License pays for itself on the second project.
Can I use the same Creator License for multiple client weddings? Yes. One Creator License covers unlimited client projects for that specific song. You do not need to purchase a new license for each wedding.
Do I need to credit Gunther Sound in my films? It is not required, but it is appreciated. A simple "Music: [Song Title] by Gunther Sound — gunthersound.com" in your video description helps other videographers find music they can license, and helps us keep making it.
Will my clients get a copyright strike on YouTube or Instagram? No — as long as you hold a valid Creator or Annual License, you are covered for monetized YouTube content and professional social media use. We do not register our music with Content ID in a way that would trigger strikes on licensed users.
Can I use a Gunther Sound song in a wedding trailer I post on my own portfolio? Yes. Your portfolio, website, and social media promotional content are covered under the Creator and Annual License.
Which collection works best for wedding films? Many videographers use both. The Background Music Collection is ideal for scoring b-roll, getting ready footage, and transitions. Vocal songs from the Vocal Collection work powerfully for ceremony walks, first dances, and the emotional peak moments in a highlight reel. Having both in your library gives you complete coverage for every part of the wedding day.
For Content Creators & YouTubers
Can I use a Gunther Sound song in a monetized YouTube video? Yes — the Creator License covers monetized YouTube content. Purchase once and use that song in as many videos as you want on your channel.
Will I get a Content ID claim if I use a licensed song? No. Licensed users are protected. If you ever receive an unexpected claim on a video where you hold a valid Gunther Sound license.
Can I use a Gunther Sound song in a paid advertisement or sponsored content? Yes — the Creator and Annual License both cover social media ads and sponsored content. They do not cover national broadcast TV advertising, which requires a separate sync agreement. Contact us for broadcast inquiries.
For Film, TV & Commercial Projects
Can I license a Gunther Sound song for a film or TV project? The Creator License covers independent film, short film, and digital video projects. For broadcast television, national advertising campaigns, or major studio projects.
Can I buy exclusive rights to a song? Yes — exclusive buyouts are available. The song is removed from our catalog permanently and full ownership transfers to you. Do you offer custom songs written for a specific brand or project? We are open to custom commissions for the right projects.

How is Gunther Sound different from royalty-free music sites? Most royalty-free libraries offer generic background music built for utility. Gunther Sound creates songs with real emotional architecture — specific instrumentation, lyrical depth, and production decisions designed for the exact moments that matter most at a wedding or in a film. Our songs are not background music. They are the emotional centerpiece of the scene.
Can I listen before I buy? Yes — a full preview is available on every product page. We recommend listening on good speakers or headphones to hear the full production detail.
Do you add new songs regularly? Yes. New songs are added across both collections on an ongoing basis. Every new release is added to your library automatically if you hold an Annual License.
